Capital Levy

Commencing from 2023, families with a student in Prep to Year 10 will be required to pay a capital levy of $600 per family per year ($150 per family per term). If you have children at both MBBC and MBC, you will pay only one levy of $600 each year. The capital levy will be applied annually and will become an integral source of funds to facilitate the ongoing need for modern facilities and infrastructure at the College. Families may also continue to contribute to the Voluntary Building Fund.

Voluntary Building Fund

All donations to the Voluntary Building Fund are tax deductible and assist with upgrades to existing or new facilities.

The College Building Fund is registered and endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a deductible gift recipient under items in Subdivision 30-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.
For families who would like to contribute, we suggest a voluntary donation of $175 per family, per term on each College fee account.

Student accident insurance

The college’s student accident insurance policy provides cover for all full-time students against accidental bodily injury—24 hours per day, 365 days per year, worldwide. Major exclusions include any non-Medicare medical expenses and accidents resulting from participation in professional or motor sports. There is no additional charge to the family for this coverage. You are welcome to contact the Director of Business and Finance for more details regarding this policy.

The College also has a travel insurance policy which covers all students, staff and others who travel for school purposes outside a radius of 50km intrastate, interstate and overseas.

Withdrawal of student prior to Year 12

The College requires written notice of not less than one full school term in advance for the withdrawal of a student at any time before the end of Year 12. Notice is required on the final day of the school term which is immediately before the end of the term in which the student is intending to leave. For example, should your son be leaving at the end of Term 4, notice is required by the last day of Term 3 in the year of departure. A late notice fee of one (1) term’s fees will be payable by families who do not provide the required notice.

The college reserves the right to vary fees and charges as necessary.
