Task 1: How We Organise Ourselves 

GRAFFITI ART

Taking responsibility for Art in a public space became the experience for students in this unit. A small group collaborative design, based on students’ first initials, evolved, and was ‘installed’ using pastel on an exterior wall adjoining Year 4 classrooms. Individual magnet replicas were commissioned as mementoes.

Task 2: How We Express Ourselves 

THUMBPRINT DESIGN

The artwork of Cheryl Sorg was explored as inspiration for students to incorporate symbolic graphics and text in a design representing self-identity. Life experiences and links to personal culture became the focus of the work featuring an individual thumbprint overlay.
