Year 3 | Moreton Bay Boys' College

Task 1: Sharing the Planet

Students explored the diversity amongst animal characteristics to inspire an idea for using features from different animals to create an imaginary creature. The scratch design process entailed making a customised support – a layer of crayon coated with a mixture of black acrylic and detergent that provided a soft removeable surface for the combo creatures to emerge.

Task 2: How We Express Ourselves

Students explored how facial expression is used to communicate emotion and designed a character based on a particular emotion. The hand puppet head was fashioned out of a synthetic modelling medium, with accessories on the outfit reflecting the personality of the character.
