Task 1: How We Express Ourselves

STORYTELLING

Local native animals became characters in a story through painting and printmaking after students explored different ways that stories can be told in a visual way. Moreton Bay and the surrounding islands and mainland Brisbane areas set the scene for a composition using either a Warm or Cool colour scheme to identify land and water based animals and their habitats.

Task 2: How the World Works

ART LAB

The Art classroom became the lab when students experimented with types of media in making a moulded bowl shape. Using clay, paper and plaster, and with adaptations in technique, provided a means of understanding change that occurs in physical and chemical states of matter.
